Our Story

Rexcel Coatings Corporation formerly known as Chemrex Specialty Coatings is a privately held industrial coatings manufacturer and distributor located in El Paso, Texas. Rexcel was founded by Rex and Mary Smith in August 1969 and incorporated in July 1970. The history of Rexcel is colored by its marketing successes in the United States, Mexico, China, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and other countries around the world.

We have been manufacturing and representing roof coating materials for over 20 years. In 2020 we decided to focus on distributing roof coating products and close our manufacturing division. Leveraging our reputation, knowledge and purchasing power in the industry, we strive to be the premier distributor in the roof coating market.
